We have had the pleasure of welcoming ARUS Andalucía Racing Team, the Formula Student team of which eks Energy is a sponsor, to our facilities.

At eks Energy we are always promoting young talent and looking for ways to provide new opportunities that make it easier for those who are training in technology to find a promising future within our company.

For this reason, eks Energy sponsors this group of engineers from the University of Seville that makes up ARUS, a stimulating Formula Student project that will take its prototype to competition with universities throughout Europe.

The ARUS team is multidisciplinary and very complete, it has engineers from various specialties. During their visit to the eks Energy facilities they told us that they were divided into departments according to their skills and training and each one was part of a chain that works perfectly.

As in any company, at ARUS they divide each part of the production and design process, having a person responsible for each area who is responsible for achieving the best possible result, demonstrating the commitment and capabilities of professionals.

At eks Energy, we tell you the history of our company, the volume we have achieved and the type of projects we carry out, some of them unique and pioneers in the sector.

They also had the opportunity to listen to the testimony of some of our key employees within the company, who told them what it means for them to have a job that they like and that inspires them.

In addition, they were able to visit our facilities with Francisco Ronquillo, Chief Corporate Officer at eks Energy and Luis Terrón, Chief Operating Officer at eks Energy, there was no one better to be able to talk to them about what we do in depth and tell them about the role they could play. in our company.

eks Energy has a wide variety of vacant positions for technical profiles like them that, without prior experience, could be developed within our company.

It was a very enriching visit for both teams and we were delighted to receive you at the eks Energy offices.

The biggest Project Super Battery gets the Generator Performance Standard (GPS) 

Waratah Project, the most powerful battery in the world, has got the approval by he Australian Energy Market Operator (AEMO) and now has granted Generator Performance Standard (GPS). 

This important milestone for a Critical State Significant Infrastructure declared project moves steadily towards completion and marks the firs step for such a large battery energy storage project, facilitating the future of other “superbatteries” that may be forthcoming in the Australian National Electricity Market.

GPS approval represents the fundamental and most complicated step to achieve for any generation project in Australia. The GPS sets the standards that each generators and storage projects must meet in terms of performance to ensure stability and reliability of the electrical grid.

To achieve those standards helps not only to ensure a smooth integration into the existing energy infrastructure, but also to prevent disruptions. 

With the GPS approval Waratah Super Battery project has overcome one of the biggest technical barriers and is now ready to keep being a key factor in the growth of the energy storage market in Australia.

At eks Energy we are really proud to be part of Waratah Super Battery proyect. The biggest battery Project in the world that will be fully operational by August 2025.

We have participated together with Ampt in a pv magazine Webinar, in which we discussed a case study of Latin America’s (LATAM) largest solar+storage installation where both companies, Ampt and eks Energy, partnered to deliver an end-to-end power conversion solution using a fixed-voltage DC-coupled architecture.

If you didn´t have the chance to join the live webinar, here we will share some of the key points covered in the webinar. Utility-scale solar + storage are hot topics as the energy storage industry is looking for innovative approaches to achieve superior economics.

Battery energy storage has emerged as the dominant and rapidly expanding method of energy storage in a significant proportion of the world in recent years. In the US alone, the proportion of battery storage in the country’s energy storage capacity climbed from a mere 3% in 2017 to a substantial 36% in the first half of 2023. Battery systems go hand in hand with solar for both new installations and retrofits.

But, Like Salvador, Chief Comercial Officer at eks Energy and Mark, Vice President Strategic Marketing at Ampt explain within the webinar, not all PV +storage systems are equal, they can be AC- or DC-coupled. Both solutions have their own benefits and considerations for implementation. The best example of the benefits of DC coupled solutiones is this case study in Latin America’s (LATAM) largest solar+storage installation where we partenerd Ampt to deliver an end-to-end power conversion solution using a fixed-voltage DC-coupled architecture.

In the first half, Salvador Rodríguez talks about the project developer’s goals, the power solution architecture and its advantages related to the inverter, battery converter, controls, and grid response. And in second half, Mark Kanjorski, will detail the cost and performance advantages of the fixed-voltage DC-coupled PV+storage solution.

Our Director of Processes and Quality was interviewed during the STEM WOMEN event and tells us about her role within eks Energy

At eks Energy we are always committed to promoting female talent and the best ambassador of our company in this aspect is our Director of Processes and Quality, Mª Carmen Tenor. She is one of the key figures within our management committee, she is the guarantor that everything we do at eks Energy has quality standards in line with the level of our clients and the projects in which we participate.

As we already told you, eks Energy participated in STEM WOMEN a few weeks ago and during the event they had the opportunity to tell us more about what day-to-day life is like in their position and what role we want STEM talent to play within eks Energy. All this without losing sight of the fact that we have the mission of being a relevant actor in stopping climate change by promoting the massive use of renewable energy thanks to our renewable energy integration systems, as she explains perfectly during the interview.

What Tenor values ​​most about his job is how easy it is to carry it out thanks to the good atmosphere that exists within the company and the professionalism of all the people who make up eks Energy. In addition, his position has great transversality and he is aware of all the processes that occur in all departments, which helps him to have a global vision of the company that few can enjoy. Participating in problem solving, implementing new initiatives, ensuring the quality of eks Energy products and the satisfaction of our customers are just some of the tasks that pose the challenges of being the guarantor of quality in a company that aims to mark the difference in the fight against climate change.

Without a doubt, at eks Energy we are very proud to have this STEM woman who “supports other STEM women to create a world in which diversity supports technology and equality is the norm”, as she herself explains in the video.

As we announced a few weeks ago, Alberto Prieto today takes up his position as CEO of eks Energy.

Alberto Prieto, with a long and successful career within Hitachi Energy, will be the CEO of eks Energy from today.

He joins eks Energy from Hitachi’s Energy Transformers Business Unit, where he previously held the position of Global Portfolio Manager, and succeeds Javier Landero, who will assume new responsibilities as Chief Strategist at eks Energy. This change positions our company within Hitachi Energy for its next phase of intensive growth.

Thanks to his more than 25 years of experience occupying leadership positions in both manufacturing, operations and technical management at an international level, Alberto is the best candidate to accompany us in the integration with Hitachi Energy that will help us continue growing and accumulating successes.

As he himself stated when his appointment was announced: “Both eks Energy and Hitachi Energy are powerful technology providers in the energy transition. I am delighted and committed to forging a clear path for Hitachi Energy and eks Energy, bringing our portfolios together in the strongest way possible to deliver the right solutions and services for our customers. “This starts with identifying the optimal combinations of eks Energy’s power electronics products with Hitachi Energy’s automation, software and systems integration offerings.”

At eks Energy we are always committed to promoting a healthy lifestyle among our colleagues, an active lifestyle that helps them live with the highest quality of life and health. That is why we promote activities such as the annual paddle tennis tournament, in which many members of the eks Energy team participate.

At eks Energy we are not only committed to a future in which we shape energy, we also want to do so taking into account the well-being of the people who make up our team. That is why we carry out initiatives that have to do with their health, such as help for them to carry out sports activities in their daily lives and such as our annual paddle tennis tournament, which everyone looks forward to with great enthusiasm.

Every year we invite our employees to participate in a tournament that takes place at the PIBO IP, very close to our headquarters. This year in particular our team has expressed a lot of interest in the sporting event. 32 people participated in the paddle tennis tournament, which was also attended by many other colleagues who did not participate, but wanted to be part of the event by cheering on the participants.

The tournament was based on a qualifying phase in which the 16 couples were divided into 4 groups of 4; and from these, 4 semi-finalist couples will emerge. The semifinals were really even, and the two finalist couples were Roberto Navarro and Luis Terrón against Jaime Díaz and Rafael Amadeo García, with the first of the aforementioned couples proclaiming themselves the winners. A prize ceremony was held with a trophy for each of the first 3 couples.

After the success of the V eks Energy Paddle Tournament and what our team enjoyed sharing a sports day, we hope to be able to repeat events of this type soon.
