The first event in which we participated as a “A Hitachi Group Company” has been an incredible experience full of opportunities and fruitful meetings.

Intersolar 2024 has been a success for several reasons. One of the most important is that it is the first event in which we participate as “A Hitachi Group Company”. The result has been a joint effort with our team and that of Hitachi that has been very satisfactory, a great experience from which the most beneficiaries are our clients, who receive unbeatable complete attention.

Both the eks Energy and Hitachi Energy stands have been a non-stop of visitors and meetings in which we ´ ve had the opportunity to show the way in which our power converters expand the Hitachi portfolio and how being part of such a great company like Hitachi allows us to give the best service possible.

Furthermore, Intersolar 2024 has been a success due to the amount of attendance it has received in this edition. More than 110,000 visitors from 176 countries make this event the largest and most international in history. The eks Energy space was in an unbeatable location and the number of visits and meetings we have received has made it easy for us to take advantage of every minute of the event.

We can only be grateful to all the people who came to visit us at the eks Energy space and to the colleagues at Hitachi who have made it so easy for us to integrate into this great company in which we hope to be able to grow and contribute everything in our power to may we together shape the energy of tomorrow.

ARUS, the Formula Student team that we sponsor at eks Energy, launches its car for this season, the first autonomous Formula Student car manufactured entirely in Andalucia

As it could not be otherwise, at eks Energy we are always supporting new talents who will soon be the future of our industry. This is the case of ARUS, a multidisciplinary team made up of more than 100 engineering students from the University of Seville who are designing a Formula Student car to compete internationally with Universities from all over Europe.

This week they presented their car in a spectacular event organized in the Plaza de España in Seville, to which all the sponsoring companies of this successful team have been invited. At eks Energy we sponsor and support the development of this wonderful team of students, who represent all the talent that our land offers and the future of our sector that is nourished by talents that stand out with initiatives like this. 

Formula Student is a unique automobile competition held annually, in which the ARUS team competes against more than 600 universities that are among the best in the world. It is unique because it not only measures which car is the fastest, in addition, the cars must present models with optimized performance and designs that promote coherent and most efficient planning possible.

As sponsors of ARUS at eks Energy we are very proud of their career as a team and of all the members that make it up. Together they have presented a prototype that will undoubtedly bring them many successes.

As we already told you months ago, we are now a Hitachi group company. At the beginning of the year we began to integrate into Hitachi Energy, a great company that is helping us grow and face new challenges. As part of the integration process within Hitachi Energy, our logo has also evolved and now includes the claim “A Hitachi Group Company”. 

With this change in our logo we want to show what we are now, remember that we are part of the Hitachi group, and therefore show it in our logo, which is our greatest hallmark.

At eks Energy we are always promoting young talent and looking for ways to provide new opportunities that make it easier for those who are training in technology to find a promising future within our company.

For this reason, eks Energy sponsors this group of engineers from the University of Seville that makes up ARUS, a stimulating Formula Student project that will take its prototype to competition with universities throughout Europe.

The ARUS team is multidisciplinary and very complete, it has engineers from various specialties. During their visit to the eks Energy facilities they told us that they were divided into departments according to their skills and training and each one was part of a chain that works perfectly.

As in any company, at ARUS they divide each part of the production and design process, having a person responsible for each area who is responsible for achieving the best possible result, demonstrating the commitment and capabilities of professionals.

Waratah Project: Revolutionizing Energy Storage with the World’s Most Powerful Battery

Waratah Project, the most powerful battery in the world, has got the approval by the Australian Energy Market Operator (AEMO) and now has granted Generator Performance Standard (GPS).

The biggest Project Super Battery gets the Generator Performance Standard (GPS)

This important milestone for a Critical State Significant Infrastructure declared project moves steadily towards completion and marks the firs step for such a large battery energy storage project, facilitating the future of other “superbatteries” that may be forthcoming in the Australian National Electricity Market.

GPS approval represents the fundamental and most complicated step to achieve for any generation project in Australia. The GPS sets the standards that each generators and storage projects must meet in terms of performance to ensure stability and reliability of the electrical grid.

To achieve those standards helps not only to ensure a smooth integration into the existing energy infrastructure, but also to prevent disruptions. 

With the GPS approval Waratah Super Battery project has overcome one of the biggest technical barriers and is now ready to keep being a key factor in the growth of the energy storage market in Australia.

We have participated together with Ampt in a pv magazine Webinar, in which we discussed a case study of Latin America’s (LATAM) largest solar+storage installation where both companies, Ampt and eks Energy, partnered to deliver an end-to-end power conversion solution using a fixed-voltage DC-coupled architecture.

Battery energy storage has emerged as the dominant and rapidly expanding method of energy storage in a significant proportion of the world in recent years. In the US alone, the proportion of battery storage in the country’s energy storage capacity climbed from a mere 3% in 2017 to a substantial 36% in the first half of 2023. Battery systems go hand in hand with solar for both new installations and retrofits.

But, Like Salvador, Chief Comercial Officer at eks Energy and Mark, Vice President Strategic Marketing at Ampt explain within the webinar, not all PV +storage systems are equal, they can be AC- or DC-coupled. Both solutions have their own benefits and considerations for implementation. The best example of the benefits of DC coupled solutiones is this case study in Latin America’s (LATAM) largest solar+storage installation where we partenerd Ampt to deliver an end-to-end power conversion solution using a fixed-voltage DC-coupled architecture.

In the first half, Salvador Rodríguez talks about the project developer’s goals, the power solution architecture and its advantages related to the inverter, battery converter, controls, and grid response. And in second half, Mark Kanjorski, will detail the cost and performance advantages of the fixed-voltage DC-coupled PV+storage solution.

As we announced a few weeks ago, Alberto Prieto today takes up his position as CEO of eks Energy.

Alberto Prieto, with a long and successful career within Hitachi Energy, will be the CEO of eks Energy from today.

He joins eks Energy from Hitachi’s Energy Transformers Business Unit, where he previously held the position of Global Portfolio Manager, and succeeds Javier Landero, who will assume new responsibilities as Chief Strategist at eks Energy. This change positions our company within Hitachi Energy for its next phase of intensive growth.

Thanks to his more than 25 years of experience occupying leadership positions in both manufacturing, operations and technical management at an international level, Alberto is the best candidate to accompany us in the integration with Hitachi Energy that will help us continue growing and accumulating successes.

As he himself stated when his appointment was announced: “Both eks Energy and Hitachi Energy are powerful technology providers in the energy transition.
